Special Collections

MLC has a variety of non-traditional items for public libraries to borrow, which make up Special Collections. Contact Charlie Simpkins, Special Collections Coordinator, for more information or to reserve any of the items on this page: csimpkins@mlc.lib.ms

Description

StoryWalks® are a great way to engage your community, both children and adults, with reading and the great outdoors. They are picture books that have been taken apart, laminated, and affixed to plastic boards which are placed on wire sticks. Place them along walking trails, or around parks or playgrounds to provide a unique reading experience. StoryWalks® are available for an 8-week checkout period and can be shipped.

*StoryWalks® will be sent in two boxes (one for the storyboard panels, and one for the wire stakes). Please keep the boxes to return them in whether you plan on mailing them back or returning them in person. They are not typical box sizes that are usually found around a library.
